Etsy moves to Dumbo...plus schwag from Moontree Letterpress!

I’m not particularly familiar with Moontree Letterpress but I have a feeling I’m going to become so. They work in the same building as Etsy AND MY HUSBAND (who does not work for Etsy, sadly, but still has an awesome job), and JUST LOOK AT THOSE GORGEOUS RECIPE CARDS

So here’s what’s going on: Etsy moved to Dumbo recently and their first weekly Craft Night in the new space happens on Monday. The theme, apparently, is making recipe boxes and swapping recipes. (How perfect is this for me? Gonna have to write about this on my food blog…)

Best part: anyone attending gets free recipe cards by Moontree Letterpress!

Bakerella: Mini Maple Pancake Muffins

These are the cutest gosh-darned baked goods ever. Don’t feel like flipping pancakes? Make them into muffins instead! Cute, diminutive, chocolatey and mapley muffins.

(I’m not sure what my obsession with adorable baked goods is. But here, have some more! Pancake Meow charms! I have a pancake necklace and a cinnamon bun necklace myself.)

Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

A college friend of mine has organized this kick-ass event that happens on Saturday in Westminster, MD. Men are encouraged to slip on women’s shoes and walk a mile in them to symbolically “Walk a Mile in Her Shoes” and raise awareness of rape and sexual assault in the county. It will also raise funds for the Rape Crisis of Carroll County center. Women are welcome to walk with their guys and encourage them, too.

And fellas, if you’re not excited yet, know that the Rape Crisis center is raffling off a pair of heels signed by Joe Flacco, Ray Lewis, John Harbaugh, and other Ravens players.

Yum (a Mac recipe organizer)

I am officially obsessed with Yum. I’ve been on a baking spree lately (in fact, why don’t you check out my food blog? Hell yeah, self-promotion!) and this has been a positively irreplaceable program for me. You can copy the ingredients from a recipe to your clipboard and click “Paste ingredients” and it will figure it all out for you. Then you can tell it you want fewer servings, or more, and it will recalculate the ingredients. It will add things to a shopping list for you that you can print out. It is basically the awesomest thing ever (aside from the head-tilting pugs, maybe).
